What began as one woman's calling is now a community's commitment. We walk alongside oncology patients through the everyday needs that cancer doesn't pause for — because no one should face this road alone.
our story
"My command is this: Love each other as i have loved you." -John 15:12Walking You Through It was founded by Sonya Flores, a National City realtor with a heart far bigger than her business. Sonya believed that her work in real estate was more than a career — it was a calling. A tool placed in her hands by God to generate the resources needed to come alongside others in their most vulnerable moments.
She built Walking You Through It to do exactly that — to provide practical, everyday assistance to oncology patients who are fighting the hardest battle of their lives. Because cancer doesn't pause for groceries, rent, prescriptions, or the hundred small needs that pile up when a family is focused on surviving.
Sonya knew this road firsthand. As she built this nonprofit to serve others walking through cancer, she herself was diagnosed with cancer. Her faith never wavered. Her passion never dimmed. She poured herself into this mission until her very last days — a living example of the selfless love she wanted this organization to embody.
Sonya went home to be with the Lord in 2026. But the mission she heard in her heart, the one she believed God set there and promised to grow, lives on. Walking You Through It continues in her honor — carried forward by her family, her community, and everyone who believes that no one should face this road alone.

Housing Assistance
Facing cancer shouldn't mean facing homelessness. We help patients stay in their homes during treatment.
Home Cleaning
Keeping a clean home is exhausting during chemotherapy. Our cleaning team comes to you.
Utility Bills
The lights should stay on while you're fighting for your life. We help cover electric, gas, and water bills.
Medical Contributions
We help bridge the gaps that insurance doesn't cover — contributing toward costs and supplies.
Groceries
Good nutrition matters during treatment. We make sure patients and their families have food on the table.
Community Support
Emotional support, prayer, and connection to others who understand the journey you're on.
Urgent & Immediate Needs
Sometimes the need doesn't fit a category. If something urgent comes up that a patient can't handle alone, we show up. That's the promise Sonya made, and it's the promise we keep.
